The theme for this workshop is "Enhancing the Customer Experience with Smart Grid Implementation".
We are also pleased to announce the co-location of this workshop with the Smart Grid RoadShow, a semi-annual event (spring and fall) that brings together a cross section of representatives from utilities, suppliers, and consultants and provides a platform for sharing knowledge related to Smart Grid market drivers, issues and trends.

AMI MDM Working Group Fall 2008 Workshop Wednesday:

The theme for this workshop is Service Oriented Architecture. Topics include Smart Grid Multiple Bus Architecture, The Differences Between MDM in North America and Europe, and discussion on best practices for Service Oriented Architecture. You will also hear AMI updates from two utilities.
The
theme for this workshop will cover topics surrounding the impact of regulatory
requirements on utility AMI and MDM plans and implementations. Kicking
off this workshop with a keynote address is Christine Wright of
the Texas PUC.
In addition, AMI MDM is hosting a dinner on May 19, 2008 following CS
Week’s class on MDM. If you attending the workshop and would
like to attend this dinner as well, please check the designated box at
the same time you register for the workshop. Details for this dinner

to support using the AMI network as the communication backbone for demand
response and the impact on MDM”. To help you address your

AMI MDM Working Group Fall 2007 Workshop Santa Fe, New Mexico Eldorado Hotel
The fall working group meeting will allow AMI MDM members to hear case
studies from utilities with MDM experience, provide networking opportunities
and allow for discussion on the results of VEE collaboration since the
Spring 2007 meeting at JEA. Time will be set aside for utilities
and vendors to engage in one-on-one discussions on problem solving and
how to implement MDM successfully.
There is still space on the agenda for open forum discussion topics. Please
submit the topic you would like to cover to Vicki Trees at vtrees@utilipoint.com.
AMI MDM Working Group Third Workshop Tuesday: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Wednesday: 8:00 am – 2:30 pm Jacksonville, Florida Hosted by JEA
Come hear first hand from utilities that are working toward or have completed
MDM implementation. Utility presentation will be followed by discussion
sessions to help address your specific concerns. Opportunities
exist to visit with various vendors that provide, or work closely with,
MDM applications.
AMI MDM Networking Luncheon during
DistribuTech in San Diego
The buffet lunch will be available from noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Hilton
San Diego Gaslamp Quarter Hotel across the street from the San Diego Convention
Center. While you are in town for the DistribuTech conference, take
a moment to visit with other utilities about MDM issues. You will
meet other utilities deploying or contemplating deployment of MDM systems
and have the opportunity to discuss topics applicable to your utility.

AMI MDM Working Group First Workshop: AMI MDM held its first face-to-face workshop at the Metering
Americas conference in Atlanta, Georgia at the Hyatt.
AMI MDM met for one and a half days and accomplished the following:
Agreed on total system functionalities of AMI and MDM
Agreed on the purpose of AMI MDM:
The collection and dissemination of time-sensitive utility
information to all industry participants
To encourage excellence in MDM in the North American Utility
Industry
To assist utilities in increasing the value of their investments
in AMI, MDM, and other utility systems
To facilitate the development
and use of AMI and MDM to support advanced utility operations
and services
To maximize the benefits of empowering customers and utilities
through AMI and MDM
